Katie Holmes made her Broadway debut earlier this month in the production of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.

And, despite early buzz that she wasn’t a draw, seems like Mrs. Cruise is helping the show sell tickets – and lots of them!

Last week, her show was the highest-grossing play on Broadway.

It earned $684,002 for its first full week of eight preview performances. And, it played to a theater nearly 98% sold out. The Schoenfeld has a capacity of 1,052.

All My Sons will officially open on October 16th, though it’s being doing pretty well so far in previews.

It has a top ticket price of $116.50, along with some premium tickets selling for $300 for certain performances.

So will Katie’s good streak in Broadway survive or will the buzz die down as will her ticket sales?

Would U pay $116.50 to see Katie?

He’s In The Clear – But Two Others Charged!

There’s more news surfacing about that July crash in Hollywood involving drunk-driving actor Shia LaBeouf.

The two other people involved in the crash were just charged on Monday with providing police with false information about the accident.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, they’ve filed one misdemeanor count for Herbert Simon, 22, and one for Kimberly Bent, 21.

Looks like Bent told police that she was driving, but investigators are suspecting it was Simon who was behind the wheel that night.

As for LaBeouf, it was announced last week that there wasn’t sufficient evidence to file a formal charge against him for drunk driving.

He may only lose his license for 9 months, because LaDouche refused the breathalyzer.

His attorney says LaBeouf was pleased not to be facing a criminal case and believed his client’s license would not be suspended.

Seems like Shia is getting off pretty easy!

As for Simon and Bent, no word yet on if they’ve managed to get an attorney.

Their arraignment date has also yet to be scheduled.

Janet Hospitalized, Cancels Concert Minutes Before Show!

This is awful news!

One of our favorite divas, Miz Janet Jackson, canceled her Montreal concert last night.

The reason?

Janet had taken ill and had to be rushed to the hospital!

A rep for Miz Jackson confirms that the singer “got suddenly ill” during her soundcheck, shortly before the concert.

According to a statement released by W&W Public Relations, Janet had to be immediately rushed to the hospital just before the scheduled show time.

Reports are that Janet is being monitored at the hospital, but no further details were given about her condition.

Though, like a true performer, they did state that she hopes to reschedule the show.

Let’s hope it’s nothing serious and she gets out of the hospital soon!

Bush Asks Congress to Give $700 Billion to Banks

Sep 20, 2008 Author: famefetcher | Filed under: Uncategorized

George Bush made a very Democratic Party move on Saturday.

The President asked the Congress to give $700 BILLION to the Wall Street banks that are basically in deep shit.

Bushy called it a ‘big solution to a big problem’.

This ‘big solution’ would be the BIGGEST federal biz bailout since the Great Depression.

Funny — Bush in a way admitted that the ‘Republican’ way of letting the market ’sort itself’ out can’t fix a big problem!

If Bush’s request is passed by Congress, the $700 BILLION that would go to the banks is your money, taxpayers.

Basically, if Wall Street isn’t bailed out big time, our economy would be screwed and even more people would be out of work.

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see how Congress responds to Bushy’s request.

We sense they’ll say yes, but the Dems will surely inject lots of ‘we told you so’s’ all along the way.
